AUS ÜBER 9000 M HÖHE

Like successive panels of text from an imaginary silent movie, the exterior wall of the former AGFA headquarters is emblazoned with written images. Is it a film consisting of two intertitles, a poem or a manifesto of perception?

In their work, the artists Axel Töpfer and Jo Preußer deal with the question of how linguistic and visual images permeate each other: How do films emerge through linguistic images in our perception as mind movies? And conversely, how does poetry emerge through the visual language of film? For their work in Wolfen, they sought out moments of danger and relaxation in industrial and media history and condensed them into an imaginary sequence of images. Their short poem on the outside wall of the former AGFA headquarters is a short film in the mind.
