Stiftung Bauhaus Dessau

The Bauhaus in Dessau has been linked to the industrial landscape in and around Bitterfeld since its foundation. After 1990, this connection was taken up again through many research and cultural projects under the heading INDUSTRIAL GARDEN AREA. The Bauhaus is involved in the Festival OSTEN with the Bauhaus Lab and as a partner institution of the tandem scholarship THE LANDSCAPE AS A PLACE OF TRANSFORMATION.

The Bauhaus Dessau Foundation is an artistic-scientific foundation that preserves and communicates the ideas and themes of the Bauhaus. The foundation works in a historically reflexive manner and at the same time examines today’s relevance and the current potential that can be derived from the Bauhaus heritage for the 21st century. This results in the foundation’s profile as a preservationist, curator, mediator, teacher and researcher.
