Ferropolis is an industrial monument, open-air museum and event area on a peninsula in the former Golpa-Nord open-cast mine near Gräfenhainichen. Five large open-cast mining machines form a unique exhibition – and the heart of many initiatives for structural change. The Energieavantgarde Anhalt was founded here, as was the Forum Rathenau, which is committed to industrial heritage and the sustainable circular economy. The backdrop is also used for festivals, concerts and sporting events.
