Uwe Holz, born in 1962, studied prehistory and early history, Nordic studies and art history in Kiel and graduated with a magister artium in 1991. Since 1992 he has been director of the Bitterfeld District Museum and from 1998 also director of the Wolfen Industrial and Film Museum. In the 30 years he has been there, he has become familiar with the history of the bipolarity of environment and industry, of progress and prosperity, which is paradigmatic for the whole world in Bitterfeld-Wolfen. He now works in cultural administration.
