Sylvie Kürsten

Sylvie Kürsten, born near Berlin in 1979, is a freelance cultural journalist and has been working as a documentary film director since 2011. She describes her films as ‘HinterSINNlich’, always well-researched, sensually tangible and never without the necessary amount of subtlety. For the film Venus auf Abwegen in the 3sat series Kunst und Verbrechen, she and her team received the 2016 Grimme Prize from the Marler Gruppe. The cultural scientist occasionally moderates and supports the Wir sind der Osten initiative.
