Sven Gatter

Sven Gatter was born in Halle an der Saale in 1978. He grew up in the industrial town of Bitterfeld and now lives in Berlin/Brandenburg and Kassel. After studying applied social sciences in Erfurt, which he completed in 2006 with his diploma thesis “Photographic images as sources of empirical social research”, a guest residency at the Bauhaus University in Weimar and attending the Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie in Berlin, Gatter developed a photographic-artistic practice in which he primarily deals with regions undergoing structural change.
