Justus Vesting

Justus Vesting, born 1978 in Halle (Saale), is a historian and theologian. He has mainly researched and published on the history of the penal system, state security, soldiers and churches in the GDR and the commemoration of war dead in the churches. He worked as a research assistant in the field of modern church history at the Faculty of Theology in Halle and at various memorial sites. He is currently researching the inner-German border and border society as a scientific advisor on the Green Belt at the Institute for Regional History at the LDA in Halle.
