Amy Trompetter

Amy Trompetter is a puppeteer, trumpeter, world theatre historian, teacher and organizer. She began her career at the legendary Bread and Puppet Theater in New York in the 1960s. In the 1990s, she founded her own theater, the Redwing Blackbird Theater. She is the driving force behind the theater’s quest to invent new forms, connect with the broad spectrum of world theater traditions and address the urgency of local and global issues. Trompetter has taught, directed and performed in numerous venues around the world.
