Production buildings of the Wolfen film factory stood here until they were demolished: Building 170 Record Factory, Building 181 Cinema Film Processing and Building 172 Filter Factory/Color Laboratory. But with the end of the film factory came the demolition excavators. 30 years after the closure of the Wolfen film factory, the picture is dominated by wide open spaces, meadows and modern production facilities. The former production sites have also become reserves for some rare plant and animal species. Where film was once produced in the dark and thousands of men and women populated the factory premises every day, nature has now reclaimed the site.
