The former administration and research building of the film factory, building 041, is now home to Bitterfeld-Wolfen’s town hall. Research, development and administration have been carried out here since the 1930s. On a tour through the town hall, the historical layers of the building are explored in a musical and theatrical way.

Building 041 has seen a lot in its almost 90-year history, across states and systems. However, only a few traces of many chapters of these eventful times can still be found in the building today. The company headquarters and research facility of the film factory has been transformed into a modern town hall, where the administration now works and the city council meets. In a project seminar led by Folkert Uhde, who directs the Köthen Bach Festival, and in collaboration with the Bach Festival, students from the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts are tracing the atmospheres, sounds and events in the building. They will develop a guided, performative tour and use musical and theatrical means to bring the history of building 041 to life.
