DU FÄHRST EINE LINIE

Artist Lisandro Rodriguez invites you on a special tour through the Chemical Park: Moped and motorcycle riders from Bitterfeld-Wolfen will drive festival visitors through the Chemical Park and surrounding area on their MZ, Simsons or other motorized two-wheeled vehicles.

They are called Simson, Schwalbe or MZ and are an integral part of the GDR street scene. Today, they still enjoy cult status and are popular even beyond East Germany. Following on from this, Argentinian artist Lisandro Rodriguez invites you on a special tour through the Chemical Park: Motorcyclists from Bitterfeld-Wolfen will take festival visitors on their bikes. The excursion becomes a shared experience. A pact of trust is forged between riders and those in danger who are meeting for the first time: carrying, holding on, keeping their balance, accompanying. For a short time, a special connection is created between stability and movement: the weight of two bodies in balance and in motion through space. At the same time, the movements of the vehicles are recorded electronically: The track of the joint ride forms a line of mobility and transformation drawn in the landscape. According to cultural scientist John Berger, riding a motorcycle is like drawing. A drawing in space is created from the recorded movement of the joint motorcycle ride.

The production is supported by the Goethe-Institut.
