The Dresden Academy of Fine Arts is one of the oldest educational institutions for fine arts in Europe. Founded in 1764 as the “Haupt-Kunst-Akademie”, it looks back on a long tradition of teaching art, artistic craftsmanship and the preservation of cultural heritage, restoration and conservation. Around 550 students are currently studying at the academy in five degree programs: Fine Arts, Restoration, Stage and Costume Design, Theater Design and Art Therapy.
