The Anhaltisches Theater Dessau is one of the largest theaters in Europe. The theater includes the Grosses Haus am Friedensplatz with around 1070 seats and the Altes Theater am Stadtpark with 220 seats. It offers the people of Dessau-Roßlau, the region and its guests musical theater, concerts, plays, ballet and puppet theater. The Anhalt Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the oldest and most traditional orchestras in Saxony-Anhalt, has its home here and performs a wide range of symphonic and chamber concerts .
