The Akademie der Künste in Berlin is one of the oldest art institutions in Europe and an international community of artists with currently more than 400 members. Today’s academy emerged from the merger of the East and West Academies in 1993. It is a venue for exhibitions and events, a meeting place for artists and art lovers and a place for public debates on art and cultural policy.
