The Helmi Puppentheater Kollektiv from Berlin has been delighting old and young people in squares, festivals and theaters with foam puppets, music and stories since 2002. Starting out in a little toilet block on Helmholzplatz in Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg district, the repertoire, which initially consisted of fairy tale interpretations for children and adults, was quickly expanded after initial successes. This resulted in legendary plays such as ‘Leon the Professional’ or ‘Matrix’ or ‘Am Arsch, die Räuber’. In 2024, the production Riesenhaft in Mittelerde ™, which they developed together with Theater Hora and people with cognitive disabilities at Schauspielhaus Zürich, was invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen.
