Benjamin Scheuer’s music is all about directly tangible sensuality and humor. The joy of making music and the search for unusual sounds are a constant driving force for him – sometimes abysses open up, but he also likes to laugh. Sounds found in everyday life are presented directly on stage as objects or played back as recordings: Scheuer’s ‘live electrics’ approach always applies here – electronic sounds are always produced using the simplest and cheapest possible means. Because it is not the technology, but the human being with his voice, in his individuality and fallibility, that is at the center of his interest.
