In a workshop for light and shadow plays, visitors are invited to create shadow images of past, present and future life in Wolfen using movable silhouettes.

The shadow is the first image of a person. However, it only exists in the moment and is fleeting. This workshop attempts to capture the shadows: as photograms using the low-threshold, photochemical process of cyanotype (also known as iron blue printing or sun printing). Exposed to the sun and developed with tap water, the shadow images created in the workshop can be captured. As a constantly growing wall frieze, they form a walk-in, visual memory of the city and its people in the former fire station in Wolfen for the duration of the festival.
